SUMMARY:Fool's Relay
DESCRIPTION:Teams of 4 people.\n\nHeats of 3 teams with a staggered startin
g man by lane to account for distance (middle and outside lanes stagger fo
rward\, common finish line for all three lanes.)\n\nCompetitors line up at
the common finish line single file in their lane. First runners are stagg
ered at the start by lane.&nbsp\;\n\nOn go\, the first runner takes off wi
th the baton. When the runner reaches the back of their team&rsquo\;s line
\, they must pass the baton forward to the front runner. Baton must touch
the hands of each competitor in the line as it is passed up.\n\nEach runne
r completes one lap. A team&rsquo\;s time is recorded when all four runner
s have completed their laps and the baton reaches the hands of the first r
unner in front. The teams are not in direct competition with each other fo
 r a &ldquo\;finish&rdquo\; yet\, they are setting times.\n\nAfter every te
am has competed once\, the times of each team are stacked fastest to slowe
st. Then we do it like a motor race qualifying session i.e.\, the bottom X
number of teams (leaving a multiple of 3) are eliminated and then we star
t over for the next session.\n\nSo\, for example\, lets say we have 11 tea
ms compete. Each team sets their time. We list the times in a row (all 11)
and teams 10 and 11 are eliminated. Then we have 9 teams. We do it again
with fresh times being set. After everyone goes again\, teams 7\, 8\, and
9 are eliminated. Do it again\, teams 4\, 5\, and 6\, are eliminate. Then
the final race is between teams 1\, 2\, and 3 for finishing places.\n&nbsp
