Occupancy: The maximum occupancy for the first floor of Quarters One is 117 people.

Alcohol: All alcoholic beverages must be purchased through the Rock Island Arsenal Lock & Dam Lounge (MWR).

Decorations: To preserve the historic nature of the building, please do not use tape, nails, screws, or staples to attach decorations.
- Children: For their safety, all children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Explore Quarters One: Tours for Everyone
Historic Self-Guided Tours
Here is your chance to explore the history and grandeur of Quarters One! We offer almost monthly self-guided tours that allow you to wander through this magnificent home at your own pace. Discover the stories behind its walls and experience a piece of American history. Tours are open to the general public, with dates varying each month. The cost is $15 per person and you must RSVP in advance.
Paranormal Investigations
For those who are brave enough, we also open our doors to the public for paranormal investigations. Hosted almost monthly during the summer and fall, these spooky tours give you the chance to investigate one of the most haunted locations on the Rock Island Arsenal. In partnership with the Illinois Paranormal Research Team, you’ll explore the unexplained phenomena that have been reported within Quarters One for years. The cost is $30 per person and you must RSVP in advance.

A beautiful and unique setting for your special occasion
Quarters One is one of the most iconic and historic buildings on Rock Island Arsenal. Constructed in the 1870s, it is the second-largest federal residence in the United States— surpassed only by the White House. For generations, Quarters One has served as the home of senior Army leaders and a gathering place for dignitaries, ceremonies, and special events. Today, it stands as a symbol of the Arsenal’s rich military heritage and continues to host tours, community events, and celebrations that connect the past with the present.
